Peshawar Zalmi has found itself in hot water because it seems to have plagiarised its anthem from a Netflix show. The series Arcane has been a big hit. The team has been accused of a serious level of intellectual theft. This is something that the fans are not very likely to mind. They do not care as long as the team plays to win.
The song was released before the Pakistan Super League officially hit its 10 year mark. The short fil they released, The Journey Home, and the dust of war both have fans swooning over it. Everything was going well before people started to figure out that this was not really creative or original. Instead, they had simply stolen stuff from Arcane‘s “To Ashes and Blood.”
Netflix Binge Watchers Alert
This stuff came to light when people figured out that the super cool song The Journey Home was too much like the Arcane track. The super left fans swept off their feet as Aima Baig performed along with the likes of Wajid Layaq and Bilal Avaz. Now, when that happened, the keyboard warrior generation flew into a rage and was all over social media about their beef with the track. They were expecting better than a plain old rip-off from someone else’s creative juices.
However, what they got is a decent pirate version. Now, that is not to say that they did not try to do something on their own. They did try to bring in Pakistan Super League air to the whole thing. However, Arcane fans are up in arms and would have protested on the streets if it was not so hot.
Among the diehard fans of cricket too, this work has not gone down well. How could you play fair when you do not even make your own unique music? This and other concerns continue to haunt Peshawar Zalmi and other teams in the Pakistan Super League tournament this year.
However, out in Peshawar the concern is not about the thing being taken from Netflix or elsewhere. The main reason is most of them are too busy watching the PSL matches to worry about plagiarism, rip offs and other things.
At Nouba News, we believe that ripping off work from other people is not a very good thing to do. However, most fans do not care and will continue to not care.
The Pakistan Super League is in full swing, and Peshawar Zalmi is all set to dominate the matches this year as well.
The Pakistan Super League continues to dominate the airwaves in Pakistan.
Peshawar’s batting innings did not get back on its feet after Mohammad Amir got Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam out for a zero in the very first over of the chase.
However, it was new, brand-new guy Abrar Ahmed who did their best so that Peshawar never got the chance to recover as he knocked out the wickets of both their star player Mohammad Haris, along with the hard-to-handle Tom Kohler-Cadmore in the fourth over of the match.
Peshawar Zalmi All Set to dominate
He ended up with results of 4-42 and came back to clean house, making a mess of Mohammad Ali’s wickets with a great wicket haul to get the core wicket of the innings.
After the contest, he said he was a fan of the love with which he played in the powerplay and went on to say, “The captain turned to me and told me to go for wickets.”
There was brief resistance by the Peshawar batsmen when Saim Ayub, along with Hussain Talat, got to play together at the crease for a 63-run play for the third wicket. This team at the crease was destroyed by spinner Usman Tariq when he bowled Hussain out for 35.
