Virat Kohli Makes History

Virat Kohli Makes History

Virat Kohli Scripts History, Achieves Never-Done-Before Feat In T20 Cricket

Virat Kohli has just made history yet again by becoming the fastest batsman out of Indian to hit the coveted 13000 run mark in the T20 cricket format.  scripted history by becoming the fastest Indian batter to score 13000 T20 runs.

He hit this milestone just recently during the Indian Premier League season of 2025. The clash between the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru played at the Wankhede Stadium in the city of Mumbai just yesterday.

The Mumbai Indians managed to achieve great results. A smashing sixer against Jasprit Bumrah left everyone excited.

The legend managed to get half a century off just 29 balls. It took Virat 386 matches to do this. The global record is held by Chris Gayle who managed to pull this off in 381 matches. This gret performance left the world stunned. He just proved that you should never count out Virat Kohli out of anything at all.

He is indeed a player who knows how to go above and beyond when it comes to delivering results that his team needs from him.

So how about the others who have managed to achieve this great and highly coveted rank.

13000 runs in Men’s T20 cricket (innings taken)

14562 – Chris Gayle (381)-  The Jamaican legend has the overall record in the field. He did it in 5 matches less than what Virat Kohli has managed to do.

13610 – Alex Hales (474) The British cricketing star Alex Hales also managed to achieve this feat but with 474 matches. Virat Kohli has done it much faster.

13557 – Shoaib Malik (487) The ex-husband of Indian tennis legend Sania Mirza is a sporting legend in his own right/ Shoaib Malik from Pakistan managed to hit 13000 in 487 matches during his long career.

13537 – Kieron Pollard (594) Another Caribbean classic to come out of Jamaica has been this guy. Absolutely phenomenal player. He is the last among the list of players that have managed to hit this coveted level.

13001* – Virat Kohli (386) of course the greatest Indian batsman in living memory has managed to hit this in the second least number of matches ever.

Jasprit Bumrah did well. He was back on the side of the Mumbai Indians after a long break due to a leg injury. As they say, shake a leg or break a leg and he just happened to break his.

The Mumbai Indians had the chance to pick if they wanted to bat or bowl first because they had won the toss. They chose to bowl against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. This was indeed a match for the ages that fans are not going to forget about any time soon.

Jasprit Bumrah was back in form after going under the knife for treatment for his lower back which had not been doing too well. He was injured while touring down under in Sydney at the final fifth test of the Border Gvaskar Trophy series.

Rohit was also missing in action against the Lucknow Super Giants due to the fact that he had a bad knee.

The fact that they are now back in the game is a huge deal. It gave the Mumbai Indians just what they needed to push them over the top and to clinch a victory after a rather long bad spell of matches.

Hardik Pandya the much loved skipper of the Mumbai Indians wanted to bowl first. The reason he chose to do that is that the track looked nice and the dew was not expected at the time.

“When the wicket is good, it stays that way, and with dew, it could only get better,” said Pandya. The Mumbai Indians also seem to be confident of victory going forward.

Who do you think is going to win the Indian Premier League season this time around ? Let us know in the comments.
