Pakistan vs Bangladesh, Champions Trophy 2025 Highlights: Game called off in Rawalpindi
Pakistan and Bangladesh were unable to face each other due to heavy rains and downpour in the city of Rawalpindi which forced the match to be called off. This following the defeat to India has been nothing but bad news for the Pakistan Cricket Board which had finally been able to host a major tournamant after about three decades.
The Pakistani team has come under fire from cricketing greats in the country from the likes of Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar, Ramiz Raja and many other cricketing greats who have lashed out at the player selection and the leadership of the team which they say has not been up to the task when it comes to champions trophy 2025.Â
This was supposed to be the last of the group stages for both sides. Pakistan has been knocked out of the competition already even though they are the hosts.
The last time Pakistan hosted a major international cricket event was back in 1996. That time was the ICC Cricket World Cup. The star players of the team are under intense pressure. Babar Azam the cricket captain and major players like Shaheen Shah Afridi have not been able to live to the expectations of fans and cricket officials alike. They might even be fired from their jobs.
The match against India which Pakistan lost by a stunning margin and also saw Virat Kholi getting a century is what has pushed the team out of the tournament.
In fact the team was not able to win a single match during the whole competition. This is even worse considering the fact that this was their first hosting chance in a generation. The matter has reached the highest levels of the Pakistani government and strict action is likely.
